DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — The man shot inside Wiregrass Commons Mall on Saturday, Oct. 12, has been identified as Korion Michael Salter of Dothan.
According to law enforcement sources, Salter was struck in the head during what investigators believe was a retaliation-related shooting inside the mall. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment, but his current condition has not been released.
New details have also revealed that Salter is wanted by the Pike County Sheriff’s Office in connection with the murder of 23-year-old Bobby Lee David Mircle Lucas, also from Dothan. Lucas was shot and killed around midnight on Oct. 5 at Hideaway Events just north of Troy.
Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas said an arrest warrant for Salter had been issued prior to the Dothan shooting. Investigators from Pike County were expected to meet with Dothan authorities Monday for further coordination.
More information is expected to be released as the investigation continues.
