DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — According to Dothan Leisure Services, a BBQ fundraiser will be held Friday, Oct. 9, to support the Therapeutic Recreation Unified Bowling Program.
The fundraiser will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Doug Tew Therapeutic Recreation Center, 300 Garland St. in Dothan.
BBQ plates are $10 and include a pulled pork sandwich with barbecue sauce, chips and dessert. Dine-in and carry-out options will be available.
Delivery within Dothan city limits is available for orders of 20 plates or more.
According to Dothan Leisure Services, proceeds will benefit the Unified Bowling Program, which brings together people with and without intellectual disabilities to compete weekly as teammates.
The program focuses on inclusion, community connections and competition. Money raised will also help teams participate in state and national-level tournaments.
