DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — The Dothan Witches Ride has been rescheduled because of weather concerns.
Organizers announced the event will now be held Saturday, Oct. 31, on Halloween.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m., followed by an after-party at Solomon Park until 1 p.m.
Organizers said the decision was made with the safety of riders, families, volunteers and people along the parade route in mind.
“We are truly sorry for the change and any inconvenience this creates,” organizers said. “We know you have made plans, worked on costumes, decorated your rides, and looked forward to sharing this day with friends and family.”
The Dothan Witches Ride supports the Exchange Center and the Child Advocacy Center, with the event bringing the community together to raise awareness and support efforts to prevent child abuse.
“At the heart of the Dothan Witches Ride is a community coming together to support the Exchange Center and the Child Advocacy Center,” organizers said.
Those who have not registered but would still like to participate can still sign up for the event.
Organizers said additional information and updated event details will be announced as Halloween approaches.
