OZARK, Ala. (WDNews) — According to Southern Dog Mission, the organization is seeking a licensed and bonded electrician to help improve conditions for dogs housed at the Ozark Police Department Animal Shelter.
The rescue said many of the dogs have spent years in outdoor kennel runs without air conditioning or heat, and during the hottest part of the day, the kennels can become dangerously hot.
“Our first goal is to find a licensed and bonded electrician who can run power to the outdoor kennels. This would allow us to install overhead fans and provide much-needed airflow,” the organization said.
Southern Dog Mission said it has permission to complete the improvement project, but the electrical work must be performed by a licensed and bonded electrician.
“We would be incredibly grateful to find someone willing to donate their labor if we provide the necessary supplies. We’re also happy to discuss costs with qualified electricians who can provide a quote, but please remember we are a small rescue that struggles,” the organization said.
