HARTFORD, Ala. (WDNews) — Hartford residents will now have one main Facebook page to follow for city updates, according to the City of Hartford.
The City of Hartford Utilities Facebook page became inactive after Sept. 14. Going forward, utilities and Public Works updates, announcements, service information, schedules and other city-related posts will be shared through the city’s official “Hartford Alabama” Facebook page.
“We appreciate everyone who has followed and supported the Hartford Utilities page over the years. Thank you for staying connected with the City of Hartford!” the city stated.
The city is also encouraging residents to sign up for its Notify Me alert system to receive news, emergency alerts and other important information directly on their cellphones.
According to the city, residents can sign up through Hartford’s new website by creating an account, selecting “News Flash” and finding the “Stay Connected!” alert option. Users can then choose which types of notifications they want to receive.
“Don’t forget to follow Notify Me. Stay up to date with everything happening in Hartford!” the city stated.
