Dothan, Ala. (WDNews) – Kraft Heinz Foods Company has issued a nationwide recall of nearly 368,000 pounds of Oscar Mayer turkey bacon after routine testing revealed possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The recall affects fully cooked Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon Original products produced between April 24 and June 11, 2025, at the company’s facility in Newberry, South Carolina.
Products included in the recall:
12-oz. vacuum-packed packages with UPC 071871548601, lot code RS40, and “use by” dates from July 18 to August 2, 2025.
36-oz. multi-packs (three 12-oz. packages) with UPC 071871548748, lot codes RS19, RS40, or RS42, and “use by” dates from July 23 to September 4, 2025.
48-oz. multi-packs (four 12-oz. packages) with UPC 071871548793, lot codes RS19, RS40, or RS42, and “use by” dates from July 18 to September 4, 2025.
All recalled packages feature the USDA inspection mark and were distributed to retailers nationwide, with some products also exported to Hong Kong and the British Virgin Islands.
The contamination concern was identified during internal lab testing at the Kraft Heinz facility. So far, no illnesses have been reported, but FSIS urges consumers to check their refrigerators and freezers and not to consume the recalled products.
Consumers who believe they may have experienced symptoms of Listeria—which can include fever, muscle aches, nausea, or diarrhea—should contact a healthcare provider immediately.
