MARIANNA, Fla. (WDNews) — Chipola College has named attorney and 1997 graduate Chris Young its 2026-27 Outstanding Alumnus.
Young was recognized during the college’s Back to School opening session Aug. 17 as faculty and staff gathered to begin the new academic year.
Chipola College President Dr. Sarah Clemmons introduced Young, who attended the event with his wife, Ashley.
The celebration included a luncheon with the theme “Freedom to Rise.” Young spent time visiting with faculty and staff and reconnecting with former classmates.
Young was also featured in a special video highlighting alumni and what their time at Chipola gave them the “Freedom to Become.”
Since graduating from Chipola in 1997, Young has built a career as an attorney and is a founding partner of Perry & Young — The Injury Firm.
Chipola College said Young’s journey from student to attorney reflects the impact of a strong educational foundation, hard work and service to others.
“We are proud of Chris and all he has accomplished, and especially proud that Chipola was able to play a part in his story,” the college said.
