JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WDNews) — A Georgia man and woman were killed Sunday evening in a motorcycle crash in the Bascom community.
The crash happened shortly after 6 p.m. on State Road 2 near Eden Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said an 80-year-old Bascom man was driving a pickup truck east on SR-2 when a 59-year-old Georgia man driving a motorcycle attempted to pass. As the motorcycle moved into the left lane, the truck slowed and turned left into a private driveway. The motorcycle collided with the left side of the truck.
The driver and passenger on the motorcycle were both thrown off and died from their injuries, investigators said. Both were from Early County, Georgia.
After the collision, the pickup continued into a nearby fence.
