DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — The Houston County Department of Human Resources is asking the community to help make Halloween special for children in foster care by donating candy for its annual Trunk or Treat event.
The event is held specifically for children in foster care in Houston County, giving them a safe place to enjoy Halloween activities and have fun.
Organizers want to make sure the children have plenty of candy to collect and a fun, safe night to just be kids.
Community members, businesses and organizations can donate any amount. If the community works together, even small donations can add up and help make the event special for local children in foster care.
Donations can be dropped off at the Houston County DHR office, or pickup may be arranged with organizers.
