DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — A Dothan High School student is getting a firsthand look at what goes into producing a nationally televised public service announcement.
Student Stephen Colvin stepped in front of and behind the camera Thursday as filming took place for a PSA based on his original concept.
Colvin earned the opportunity after his idea was selected through a national student competition focused on the dangers of speeding.
During filming, Colvin worked alongside fellow student actors and a professional production crew. He was able to take part in several parts of the process, including acting and directing.
Dothan High School celebrated the opportunity, saying students were excited to see Colvin’s idea brought to life.
The finished PSA is expected to receive national television exposure, giving Colvin and other participating students a chance to see their work on the big screen.
