DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Kitty Kottage Dothan is celebrating its new membership with the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce following a ribbon-cutting ceremony recognizing the nonprofit’s work helping cats and kittens throughout the Wiregrass.

According to the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce, Kitty Kottage is a nonprofit, no-kill cat and kitten rescue dedicated to giving animals in need a second chance. Its mission is, “Rescue. Rehab. Rehome. Repeat.”

The organization cares for orphaned kittens, nursing mothers and abandoned, injured and medically fragile cats. Animals receive individualized care, nutrition, socialization, shelter and veterinary support while waiting for permanent homes.

The Chamber said Kitty Kottage historically saves about 750 cats and kittens each year. As of September, the organization has nearly reached that number for 2026.

Kitty Kottage also works with local adopters and rescue transport partners to help more animals find homes.

The organization relies on volunteers, foster families, donors, adopters and other community supporters to continue its rescue efforts.

Kitty Kottage Dothan is located at 131 E. Selma St. in Dothan. For more information, call 314-280-2322 or visit Kitty Kottage Dothan.
