DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Dothan’s 10U Girls All-Star Team was recognized by city leaders Tuesday following a championship season that ended with a World Series title.
According to Dothan Leisure Services, the team first won the Alabama Recreation and Parks Association 10U State Championship in Dothan. The girls then traveled to Montgomery, where they won the Dixie Softball 10U State Championship.
That state title sent the team to the Dixie Softball World Series in Belleview, Florida, where the girls represented Alabama.
Dothan faced teams from Florida, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia before winning the 2026 Dixie Softball 10U World Series Championship.
Across the three championship runs, the team finished with a combined 19-2 record. The girls scored 178 runs while allowing just 34.
According to Dothan Leisure Services, the championship makes this team only the fourth from Dothan to bring home a Dixie Softball World Series title in more than 20 years of participation.
The team was recognized during the Dothan City Commission meeting. Players also presented city leaders with a softball signed by every member of the team.
“We congratulate these players and coaches on their achievements this season and thank them for representing the City of Dothan with such distinction,” Dothan Leisure Services said.
