DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Water World is getting ready to turn its pools over to some four-legged swimmers.
The 6th Annual Doggie Dip will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, from 8 a.m. to noon, after the water park closes to human swimmers for the summer season.
Dogs will be able to swim in the Wave Pool, while Kids Cove will be available for smaller or more timid dogs.
The event will also feature pup cups, vendors, giveaways, a pet contest and a photo area.
Admission is a $14 donation per dog, while humans get in free.
All proceeds will benefit Wiregrass Pets Rescue and Adoption and the Wiregrass Spay/Neuter Alliance.
The annual event gives local pet owners a chance to enjoy a morning at Water World with their dogs while supporting organizations that help animals throughout the Wiregrass.
