DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Dothan City Schools Athletics is reminding football fans to know before they go as the Dothan High School Wolves prepare for their first home game of the season.
The Wolves will host Bay High School on Friday, Aug. 21, at Rip Hewes Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
According to Dothan City Schools, middle school students and younger must be accompanied by an adult to enter varsity football games. Everyone entering the stadium will also be required to pass through the safety detection system.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early to allow extra time for parking, tickets and stadium entry. Gates and concession stands will open at 6 p.m.
General admission tickets are $10. Tickets can be purchased online through GoFan. Cash tickets will be available on the home side of the stadium only.
All fans older than 5 must have a ticket. Reentry is not allowed. Anyone who leaves the stadium and wants to return will be required to purchase another ticket.
The district’s clear bag policy will also be strictly enforced. Approved bags include clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags no larger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches; one-gallon clear freezer bags; and small clutch bags about the size of a hand. Diaper bags are allowed when the infant for whom the bag is being carried is present.
Backpacks, purses, fanny packs, camera and binocular cases, cinch bags, mesh bags, oversized totes, tinted bags and printed-pattern plastic bags are not allowed.
Weapons, umbrellas, smoking or vaping, alcohol, outside food and drinks, artificial noisemakers and metal, glass or hard plastic bottles and cans are also prohibited.
Parking is free in designated lots, while proper passes are required for reserved parking areas. Accessible parking and seating are available. Accessible seating is located on the stadium’s first level and can be reached through the entrance beneath the stadium.
AED devices are located in the Leisure Services office on the visitors’ side of the stadium and at field level with team trainers. In the event of severe weather, fans are asked to seek shelter in their vehicles. Anyone experiencing an emergency should call 911.
Dothan City Schools Athletics is also asking fans to show good sportsmanship by cheering for the Wolves and respecting officials’ calls.
