DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Auburn University President Christopher B. Roberts visited the university’s Wiregrass Research and Extension Center in Dothan on Friday to see firsthand how Auburn is working to strengthen Alabama’s agriculture industry.
The Dothan center is part of Auburn University’s efforts to support farmers, producers and communities through agricultural research and education.
Through the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station and Alabama Cooperative Extension System, Auburn conducts research and provides educational resources aimed at advancing agriculture and addressing challenges facing producers across the state.
The university said the work being done through its research and Extension programs allows information developed at Auburn to reach communities throughout Alabama.
Friday’s visit highlighted the role the Wiregrass Research and Extension Center plays in that mission, particularly in one of the state’s major agricultural regions.
Auburn University said its agricultural programs are focused on extending education, advancing agriculture and improving lives across Alabama.
