DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — According to the Dothan Police Department, women in the Wiregrass have another opportunity to enroll in a Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) self-defense course.
The department encouraged those interested to register soon, noting that spaces can fill quickly. “Another chance to enroll in RAD for women’s self-defense. Sign up today as spots can fill up quickly. Go to www.safewiregrass.org for information to sign up.”
According to the Wiregrass Public Safety Center, the RAD classes are hosted at the center and taught by Dothan Police Department instructors.
“RAD ladies self defense classes are hosted here at the WPSC. Dothan Police Department Instructors teach this course,” the Wiregrass Public Safety Center said.
Officials said the most recent class was the largest ever held at the facility, with 26 women participating.
“This past class was the largest class to ever be held here. 26 participants showed up and participated!” the center said.
The center also recognized Auburn University Public Safety Lt. Keith Walton for assisting with the training.
“Special Thank You to Auburn University Public Safety Lieutenant Keith Walton for coming to help assist with this class.”
