DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — The Doug Tew Therapeutic Recreation Center is celebrating the success of its recent community fishing event after an evening filled with fun, food and fellowship.
According to the recreation center, participants spent the evening casting lines, enjoying hot dogs and taking part in raffle drawings featuring a variety of donated prizes. Organizers said the event brought together families and community members for a night of laughter, camaraderie and outdoor fun despite the summer heat.
The center thanked everyone who attended and helped make the event a success, saying the support from the community made the evening a memorable one for everyone involved.
Organizers also expressed appreciation to Sam’s Club, Red Elephant, the City of Dothan, the Salvation Army and Water World for their generous donations, which helped create what they described as the highlight of the night with an impressive prize table.
The Doug Tew Therapeutic Recreation Center said it looks forward to hosting more opportunities for the community to come together and enjoy recreational activities in the future.
