DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Families across the Wiregrass with students attending Dothan City Schools can begin preparing for the 2026-2027 school year after the district released its open house schedule and school supply lists.
According to Dothan City Schools, open houses will begin Friday, July 31, with Dothan Preparatory Academy and the Dothan 6th Grade Center. Most elementary schools will host open houses on Monday, Aug. 3, followed by Dothan High School, Dothan City Virtual School and Carver 9th Grade Academy on Tuesday, Aug. 4. The Dothan City Early Education Center and DCS Head Start & Preschool will hold their open houses on Tuesday, Aug. 18.
School officials said families can find the complete open house schedule, including school-specific times by grade level or last name, on the Dothan City Schools website.
The district has also released school supply lists for the upcoming school year. Families can access the lists through the “2026-2027 School Supply Lists” section of the district’s website.
The first day of school for Dothan City Schools is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 5.
Officials encourage families to review their school’s open house schedule and supply list before the start of the new school year.
