OPP, Ala. (WDNews) — Residents and businesses in parts of Opp will experience a scheduled water outage Tuesday morning as crews replace a water valve connected to the city’s ongoing sidewalk improvement project.
According to the Opp Utilities Board, the outage is scheduled for Tuesday, June 9, from 7:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Officials said the temporary interruption is necessary to replace a 6-inch water valve as part of infrastructure improvements currently underway in the area.
Several streets and business locations are expected to be affected during the outage.
Affected areas include:
- Main Street from Covington Avenue to Park Avenue
- Covington Avenue from Main Street to Stanley Street
- East Hart Avenue from North Main Street to Whaley Street
- East Park Avenue from North Main Street to College Street
- Prospect Street from North Main Street
- West Park Avenue from Main Street
- Pierce Street
Utility officials noted that multiple business locations within the affected area will be impacted during the two-hour outage.
The Opp Utilities Board thanked customers for their patience and cooperation while crews complete the work.
Residents and businesses in the affected areas are encouraged to plan accordingly ahead of the scheduled outage.
