DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — As Mardi Gras festivities wrap up, local parade organizers are asking the community to help give beads and parade throws a second life.
Residents who collected extra beads, cups, plush toys or other throws during the celebration are encouraged to donate those items back to the Krewe for use in next year’s parade. Organizers say recycling throws helps reduce waste and keeps the annual event growing.
Instead of discarding unwanted items, donations will allow the Krewe to redistribute them during future celebrations while promoting a more sustainable parade season.
