ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDNews) — Enterprise State Community College is celebrating its 60th academic year with a significant enrollment increase and the debut of two new campus facilities.
Fall 2025 enrollment reached 2,866 students—up approximately 10% from the previous year. The growth reflects a steady upward trend for the college, which began in 1965 with just 256 students attending classes in downtown Enterprise.
The student body this fall includes a diverse mix of traditional students, dual enrollment participants, and adult learners. Many are pursuing academic transfer programs or enrolling in expanded technical courses aimed at preparing students for in-demand jobs.
Technical and career programs are being offered both on campus and at off-site locations, such as welding and automotive classes at the Geneva Regional Technical Education Center. Some programs, like the Airframe and Powerplant courses on the Ozark campus, are now available in accelerated formats to allow faster completion while maintaining hands-on training requirements.
On the Enterprise campus, students are also benefiting from the first new construction projects in nearly 30 years. The new Jimmy H. Baker Hall Center for the Arts opened its academic wing this fall, offering fine arts instruction and soon a 600-seat theater, expected to open to the public by late September.
Additionally, the new Workforce Technology Center is nearing completion. Once finalized, the facility will provide modular training space for non-credit fast-track programs and house welding, automotive, and mechatronics training.
College leaders say these developments reflect a long-standing community commitment to education and a forward-looking investment in workforce readiness.
Enrollment remains open for the second fall mini-term, which begins Oct. 8. Spring 2026 registration will open on Oct. 31. Students can apply online at escc.edu/apply.
