DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) – A special event honoring the memory of Laura Pate and celebrating Buddy’s 15th birthday will be held Saturday, Sept. 6, with a community pet food drive benefiting Wiregrass Pets Rescue & Adoption.
The “Furever Loved” drive will collect essential items to support the local animal rescue. Requested donations include Purina dog, puppy, cat, and kitten chow, wet food, cat litter, as well as slip leads, leashes, dog harnesses, and Martingale collars.
Drop-off for the drive will take place at Folklore Brewing, where community members can come together to give back while helping ensure pets in need have the food and supplies required for their care.
Organizers say the event is both a tribute to Laura Pate’s legacy and a celebration of Buddy’s milestone birthday, highlighting the importance of animal rescue and adoption in the Wiregrass.
