Candlelight Vigil in Dothan Marks International Overdose Awareness Day

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) – A candlelight vigil and community event will be held tonight in Dothan to recognize International Overdose Awareness Day.

The gathering, hosted by P.E.I.R. (People Engaged in Recovery), begins at 5 p.m. at 1930 Wise Drive. The evening will feature guest speakers including Judge Rose Gordon of Dothan City Court, Deputy Noel VanLandingham with the Houston County Sheriff’s Department, and representatives from SpectraCare.

Organizers say the event will include refreshments, Narcan training, and a candlelight vigil honoring the lives lost to addiction.

Community members are encouraged to attend and learn more about the resources and support available through P.E.I.R. in the Wiregrass.
