ARITON, Ala. (WDNews) — A fatal crash involving a semi-truck and a pickup truck occurred early Friday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 231 and Highway 51 in Ariton.
Emergency crews from Ariton Fire-Rescue, the Dale County Sheriff’s Department, and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency troopers responded around 7:43 a.m. Survival Flight was initially dispatched but later canceled at the scene.
Dale County Coroner John Cawley and Deputy Coroner Adam Bruhn confirmed they were called to the site.
ALEA troopers are leading the investigation.
