PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WDNews) — The towering SkyWheel at Pier Park has a new owner, marking another expansion of Dolly Parton’s growing entertainment presence in the area.
SkyWheel Panama City Beach Limited has sold the 187-foot-tall Ferris wheel to World Choice Investments LLC, the company behind Parton’s popular dinner theaters, including Pirates Voyage and Dolly Parton’s Stampede. World Choice serves as the operating partner for those ventures.
The acquisition comes just weeks after the June opening of Parton’s Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show in Panama City Beach, signaling a broader commitment to the local tourism and entertainment market.
The SkyWheel attraction, which debuted in 2018, also includes a ropes course and miniature golf course. It quickly became a popular landmark in the Pier Park area.
In a public statement, the former owners of SkyWheel said they are excited to see what the future holds under the new ownership, expressing optimism about the direction World Choice will take the attraction.
No changes to daily operations have been announced.
