Dothan, Ala. (WDNews) – The pond at Eastgate Park will be closed to the public beginning at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, and will remain closed through 6 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2025.
According to the Dothan Leisure Services Department, the temporary closure will allow several scheduled events and activities supporting youth fishing to take place uninterrupted. The department says the events are part of its ongoing efforts to promote outdoor recreation and environmental stewardship in the community.
The city is asking for the public’s cooperation and understanding during the closure. The pond is expected to reopen for normal use on Monday, July 21, at 6 a.m.
