ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDNews) — The City of Enterprise is reminding residents to know the rules when someone comes knocking at their door trying to sell a product or service.
According to the city, door-to-door solicitors operating within Enterprise are required to have a city-issued license and may only conduct business during hours permitted by city ordinance.
Residents are encouraged to look for a solicitor permit badge before doing business with anyone who comes to their home. The badge is required to be displayed while the person is soliciting.
The city’s Revenue Department works with the Enterprise Police Department to help officers identify people who are properly licensed to solicit within the city.
Anyone with questions about whether a solicitor is licensed or allowed to be soliciting at a particular time can contact the Enterprise Revenue Department at 334-348-2656.
Residents who encounter door-to-door solicitors outside permitted hours can contact the Enterprise Police Department’s non-emergency line at 334-347-2222.
Additional information about Enterprise’s solicitor requirements is available through the City of Enterprise.
