DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — The City of Dothan plans to seek $89,000 in federal funding to reconstruct an existing parking lot on North Foster Street.
According to the city, on or about Sept. 22, it will submit a request to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the release of $89,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds.
The funding would be used for the Community Advancement Foundation Parking Lot Project at 305 North Foster Street in Dothan.
The project calls for reconstructing the existing parking lot at the property.
The CDBG funding is provided under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended.
Before the city moves forward with its request for the release of funds, residents and organizations have an opportunity to submit comments on the project’s Environmental Review Record.
Any individual, group or agency may submit written comments to the City of Dothan Department of Planning & Development, Attn: Tera Wells, CDBG Program Administrator, 126 North Saint Andrews Street, Dothan, AL 36303.

The city will consider comments received on or before Sept. 21 before authorizing submission of the request for the federal funds.
