HEADLAND, Ala. (WDNews) — A longtime Wiregrass tradition will return to downtown Headland this October with a day of family fun, food, entertainment and a celebration of the area’s agricultural roots.
The annual Headland Harvest Festival is set for Saturday, Oct. 10, in and around Headland’s city square.
The festival pays tribute to local farmers and the harvest season while bringing the community together for activities for all ages.
Visitors can expect a car show, tractor show, children’s games and rides, arts and crafts, food vendors and live entertainment throughout the day.
The city square will also be filled with local artisans offering handmade items, home décor, gifts and other unique creations.
Festival food will be another highlight, with favorites including funnel cakes, corn dogs, cotton candy, kettle corn and other treats available from vendors.
Headland Harvest Day has been part of the community for more than five decades. The event began as a smaller gathering featuring a domino competition, bicycle races, an art show and performances by local talent.
Although the celebration has grown significantly through the years, it remains focused on Headland’s community traditions, local agriculture and bringing families together.
