MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Gov. Kay Ivey released a video message Friday honoring Alabama workers ahead of Labor Day and recognizing their contributions to communities across the state.

In her message, Ivey highlighted workers in industries ranging from agriculture and manufacturing to education and construction.

“The strength of America has always lived in the hardworking men and women who rise each morning determined to build a brighter future,” Ivey said.

She said that same work ethic continues across Alabama.

“Here in Alabama, that spirit is alive and well,” Ivey said.

“From our factories and farms to our classrooms and construction sites, hardworking Alabamians continue to prove that there is no substitute for an honest day’s work.”

Ivey closed her message by thanking workers for what they do across the state.

“Today, we honor you,” Ivey said. “Thank you for all you do to make Alabama stronger and America greater.”
