MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WDNews) – Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall announced Friday, Sept. 26, that a former Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers coordinator has been indicted on charges of using his position for personal gain.
Charles Nathan Nickelson, 60, of Madison County, is accused of intentionally using his role as coordinator and police officer to obtain $25,525 from Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers, according to the indictment.
Nickelson faces one count of using his official position for personal gain, a Class B felony punishable by two to 20 years in prison.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Special Prosecutions Division. Officials said no further details about the investigation are being released at this time
