Dothan, Ala. (WDNews) – Big crowds are expected Saturday, July 5, for the United Way Night and Fireworks Spectacular at Rip Hewes Stadium—and that means major traffic changes.
The City of Dothan will temporarily close several nearby streets to manage safety and flow. Starting early Saturday, Agutha Drive, Yorktown Road, Southland Drive, Glenwood Street, and Deborah Street will be closed. No street parking will be allowed in those areas.
The city will also restrict crossover traffic between the home and visitor parking lots.
After the fireworks show wraps up around 8:00 p.m., a modified traffic pattern will go into effect. Roads marked with arrows on the official traffic map will become one-way exits, and all vehicles must follow the designated direction.
Attendees are encouraged to review traffic maps in advance and plan for extra travel time. These measures are in place to keep everyone safe and ensure a smooth end to the night’s celebration.
