OZARK, Ala. (WDNews)- Authorities in Ozark have charged a man with murder following a fatal stabbing early this morning.
Around 1:30 a.m. on June 24, Ozark Police and Dale County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call from a home on Aventura Court. Officers arrived to find 25-year-old Lewis Anthony Whitehead dead from an apparent stab wound.
Investigators say the victim’s roommate, 24-year-old Zamarian Jamyus Jones, was identified as a suspect and located hours later walking along Andrews Avenue by an Ozark Police K-9 officer.
Police say Jones confessed during questioning, admitting he stabbed Whitehead after an argument over being asked to leave the residence.
Jones has been charged with one count of murder and is currently being held at the Dale County Jail.
The case remains under investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.
