OPELIKA, Ala. (WDNews) — A Sylacauga man was killed and an Auburn woman was injured in a head-on crash Friday evening in Lee County.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the crash happened around 6:34 p.m. Sept. 25 on Lee County 188 near Lee County 78, about 10 miles west of Auburn.
Jimmy E. Salters, 43, was driving a 2006 Ford Focus when it collided head-on with a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Kacie W. Smith, 52, of Auburn.
Salters was pronounced dead at the scene.
Smith was injured and taken to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment.
ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continues to investigate the crash. No additional information has been released.
