Dothan, Al. (WDNews) – Wiregrass Daily News met with Jackson County Sheriff Donnie Edenfield and Public Information Officer Monte Williams to talk about the upcoming 5th annual Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Charity Golf Classic.
Set for Friday, September 26, at Indian Springs Golf Club, the tournament raises money for the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, a program started in 1957 to give kids stability and direction when they need it most.
Sheriff Edenfield shared that the event has already brought in about $100,000 over the years, with every dollar going directly to the ranches.
This year’s day of fun kicks off at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast and live music before a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
Golfers can look forward to the popular helicopter ball drop and prizes for the winning team. Nearly 40 teams are expected, but a few spots remain along with sponsorship opportunities.
