MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WDNews) – 14-year-old Reid Wilson of Montgomery, Alabama scored a golden buzzer last night on America’s Got Talent for his cover of “You Don’t Own Me” by Lesley Gore.

During his time onstage, Wilson said that this was his first time performing on a big stage, as he normally only performs in front of family.

“I’m definitely nervous,” said Wilson backstage, “but I’m going to put my all into those two minutes to sing my heart out and just try not to miss a note.”

Musical talent seems to run in the family as Reid Wilson’s brother, Ryley Tate Wilson, was a finalist on “The Voice” in 2023.

“Do you believe in dreams? Well one of them is about to come true,” said AGT judge Howie Mandel as he pressed the golden buzzer.

A Golden Buzzer is a special feature on America’s Got Talent that allows judges to send an act directly to the live shows, bypassing lower levels of the competition.

You can watch America’s Got Talent on NBC on Tuesdays at 8/7c.
