Homeless Veterans Resource Fair Coming to Dothan on July 9

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) – The Central Alabama Veteran’s Health Care System will host a Homeless Veterans Resource Fair on July 9 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The fair will occur at Dothan Elks Lodge at 3041 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan, Alabama 36301.

Of the 324,845 veterans living in Alabama, the Department of Housing and Urban Development estimates that approximately 308 are homeless.

According to Veterans Data Central, approximately 39,706 Alabama veterans live in homes with one or more major problems of quality, crowding, or cost.

Housing affordability is the greatest housing problem among veterans. Roughly 18.4 percent of Alabama veterans pay too much for their housing.
