Jackson County, FL (WDNews) – On Saturday, June 29, around 7 a.m., Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a gas station on Highway 71 regarding a man who reportedly appeared to have overdosed in his vehicle.

As deputies arrived, they saw the vehicle leaving the gas station and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, Justin Daniel Sanabria, exhibited signs of impairment, including thick, slurred speech and drowsiness. Sanabria consented to perform field sobriety exercises and declined medical attention.

A search of Sanabria’s vehicle uncovered an Alprazolam pill, testing positive for fentanyl, along with a large quantity of latex gloves, a smoking device, and a plastic ladle containing a purple powder residue, also testing positive for fentanyl.

After being transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility, a strip search revealed several white pills in a glass vial, and various baggies containing substances that matched the purple powdery substance found in the vehicle, all testing positive for fentanyl.

Sanabria faces charges of Driving Under the Influence (Drugs), Possession of a Controlled Substance Without Prescription, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Introduction of Contraband into a County Secured Facility.
