DOTHAN, Ala (WDNews) – With high temperatures forecasted this week, the City of Dothan has announced that several recreation centers will serve as cooling stations. These centers are open during their regular operating hours to provide a cool and safe space for residents.
Here’s a list of available locations and their hours:
Eastgate Lodge:
Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Andrew Belle:
Monday-Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Sunday: 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Walton Park:
Monday-Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Sunday: 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Wiregrass Park:
Monday-Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Sunday: 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Westgate Recreation Center:
Monday-Thursday: 5:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Friday: 5:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Sunday: 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Rose Hill Senior Center:
Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
If you need to use one of these centers, please check in with the staff upon arrival. They will guide you to a designated area where you can rest and cool off. Note that these centers will close at their normal operating times.
