Panama City Beach – Distressed Swimmers Prompt Massive Search Behind Watercress Condominiums

PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL. (WDNews) – This evening, June 21, Bay County Sheriff Tommy Ford reported that the Bay County Sheriff’s Office has received a call at 8:11 PM about three distressed swimmers in the Gulf behind Watercress Condominiums, located at 6201 Thomas Drive.

One swimmer has been successfully pulled from the Gulf and is currently receiving medical attention. However, two swimmers remain missing.

The BCSO has deployed its Air Unit and is coordinating efforts with the Coast Guard and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) to locate the missing individuals. It is believed that all three swimmers are from out of town and not local residents.

Conditions have been unfavorable for swimming in recent days.
