Oklahoma Man Dies After Drowning Incident in Panama City Beach

Panama City Beach, FL (WDNews) – A tragic incident occurred Thursday afternoon when a 19-year-old man from Oklahoma drowned in the Gulf of Mexico.

According to Panama City Beach Fire Chief Ray Morgan, the young man was swimming near Sharky’s restaurant during a single red flag advisory when he was caught in a rip current. Beach safety lifeguards quickly pulled him from the water and first responders administered CPR on-site before he was transported to Bay Medical in critical condition.

Despite their efforts, city officials confirmed that the man was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
