OZARK, AL (WDNews) — The Ozark Police Department has announced a major breakthrough in a six-year-old cold case, leading to the arrest of 34-year-old Jarrette Isaiah Rodgers. Rodgers was apprehended on June 5, 2024, at approximately 8:00 PM for the murder of Cornelius Crittendon.

Crittendon’s body was discovered in his Ozark Estates apartment on May 7, 2018, by a neighbor. Despite extensive investigation efforts, the case had remained unsolved until recent advances in technology and diligent police work provided new leads.

Senior Sergeant Justin Chadwick and the Investigations Unit played a crucial role in the arrest. The breakthrough came from processing numerous search warrants and re-interviewing individuals connected to the case. Rodgers was identified as a person of interest, and during interrogation, he revealed that the motive was robbery, which tragically ended in Crittendon’s death by gunshot.
