OZARK, AL (WDNews) — The Ozark Police Department has announced a major breakthrough in a six-year-old cold case, leading to the arrest of 34-year-old Jarrette Isaiah Rodgers. Rodgers was apprehended on June 5, 2024, at approximately 8:00 PM for the murder of Cornelius Crittendon.

Crittendon’s body was discovered in his Ozark Estates apartment on May 7, 2018, by a neighbor. Despite extensive investigation efforts, the case had remained unsolved until recent advances in technology and diligent police work provided new leads.

The breakthrough came from processing numerous search warrants and re-interviewing individuals connected to the case. Rodgers was identified as a person of interest, and during interrogation, he revealed that the motive was robbery, which tragically ended in Crittendon’s death by gunshot.
