Traffic Stop Leads to Meth Trafficking Arrest

HOLMES COUNTY, Fl (WDNews) – On June 18, 2024, a routine traffic stop in Holmes County turned into a significant drug bust. A deputy from the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) pulled over a vehicle at the intersection of Hwy 183-A and Alford Road for a traffic violation.

The driver, identified as John Lawniczak, consented to a search of his vehicle. During the search, the deputy discovered a sunglass case on the driver’s side floorboard. Inside the case, they found methamphetamine pipes and over 14 grams of methamphetamine.

Lawniczak was immediately arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. The HCSO continues to investigate the case.
