ENTERPRISE, Ala (WDNews) – Get ready to celebrate Juneteenth in downtown Enterprise this Saturday with a festive parade!

Main Street will be closed to thru traffic starting at 11 a.m. to make way for the annual event, which kicks off at noon from 303 N. Main Street and concludes at 306 S. Main Street.

Make sure to arrive early as the best spots to catch the parade will fill up fast. Drivers should note that no-parking signs will go up Friday afternoon, and the street is expected to reopen by 1:30 p.m.

If you’re driving in, several parking lots will be available for the event:

– Behind the old Yancey Parker’s building on Easy Street

– Adjacent to the Coffee County Courthouse on Edwards Street

– First Methodist Church parking lot on Grubbs Street

– Additional spaces on College and Railroad Streets

Given the hot weather forecast, with temperatures expected to reach the upper 90s, don’t forget to stay hydrated.

This joyous celebration marks the federal holiday of “Emancipation Day” and promises to be a memorable event for all attendees. The street closure and parade permit were approved by the Enterprise City Council in their meeting last August.
