Tragic Discovery in Eufaula: Missing Children Found Deceased

EEUFAULA, AL(WDNews)– On June 9, 2024, the Eufaula Police Department (EPD) acted on a tip regarding the whereabouts of three individuals reported missing since June 1, 2024. The individuals included two young females and a 4-year-old child.

The search led EPD to the waters around Old Creek Town Park at approximately 8:30 p.m. During the search, a submerged vehicle was discovered in about 12 feet of water. Houston County Rescue divers were called to the scene to verify the vehicle. After confirming its presence, they attached equipment to extract it.

Upon recovery of the vehicle, authorities found the bodies of a young female and a small male child inside, both deceased. Efforts are ongoing to locate a possible third individual who remains missing.

EPD and Houston County officials are meticulously processing evidence and gathering information. Chief Danny Christ assured the public that this appears to be an isolated incident, with the Criminal Investigations Division leading the inquiry.
