Dothan Author Releases Final Book of Young Adult Christian Fantasy Series: “Daniel and the Trees of Eden”

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) – Nathan Lumbatis, a long-time Dothan resident, celebrated the release of his fourth and final book with a book signing at Downtown Books in Dothan on Saturday, June 8th.

The final book of the young adult fantasy Christian series is “Daniel and the Trees of Eden,” which follows the first three books, “Daniel and the Sun Sword,” “Daniel and the Triune Quest,” and “Daniel and the Serpent’s Abyss.”

Throughout all four novels, Daniel and his three friends learn what it means to be children of God when they are sent on four quests to fight evil throughout the world.

Lumbatis said he was inspired to write this series while working as a child and adolescent therapist, where he helped many children experiencing foster care and adoption.

Houston County alone has an estimated 140 children in foster care, with the state of Alabama having approximately 6,000 children in foster care.

While working with these children through counseling, he recognized their need to have “A concrete understanding of what it means to be children of God,” said Lumbatis.

Lumbatis originally began outlining the series around 2009, and the first novel “Daniel and the Sun Sword,” was published in 2015.

The series targets audiences of adolescents and young adults from elementary through high school, although Lumbatis says even adults can enjoy his books.

“Throughout the journey of the different characters, they encounter all kinds of different themes of faith,” said Lumbatis.

These themes include doubt, anger, forgiveness, reconciliation, fear, and feelings of abandonment, which Lumbatis said are, “Many of the experiences that all of us have throughout childhood and adolescence.”

Lumbatis said that ultimately, he hopes this series will “answer questions for kids and teenagers and even adults too,” and “help them grasp deeper spiritual concepts.”

The series is available for purchase online at Amazon.com and Nathanlumbatis.com.

They are available in person at Downtown Books, which also has autographed copies for sale.
