Weather Notice – Latest Update from The National Weather Service

Wiregrass – (WDNews) The latest Update from the National Weather Service out of Tallahassee.

Late tonight and early Friday morning, a squall line will punch across our Alabama and Georgia counties late tonight and early morning hours. This will bring the most significant threat of severe weather in the form of damaging and potentially destructive wind gusts.

This is where there is an Enhanced Risk (Level 3 of 5) of severe thunderstorms. A few tornadoes and large hail are possible.

The southern end of the line will spread more slowly through our Florida counties. Isolated severe thunderstorms are expected, but they will come with a bit less punch than further north, and a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 5) of severe thunderstorms is outlooked over our Florida counties.

Though the bulk of storms will come during the morning hours around sunrise, isolated severe thunderstorms will continue to be possible into the afternoon, especially near the Forgotten and Nature Coasts, and the Lower Suwannee Valley. All severe modes are possible over our Florida counties
