A state commission denies Dothan its first charter school. In a meeting on Monday the Alabama Public Charter School Commission voted 8-0 to deny the Barnabas School of Leadership a charter school status. The school was supposed to open last year but was given an extension to 2024 after legal issues with the founding pastor.
