3rd Annual Alabama Sports and Adventure Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

Mike Schmitz, local businessman and philanthropist, announces the 3rd Annual Alabama Sports and Adventure Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Thursday, April 4th, 2024 at 6:00pm.

The Alabama Sports and Adventure Hall of Fame seeks to recognize and honor men and women who have dedicated their lives to their families and communities, while also making time to live a healthy lifestyle through sports and adventure. Honoring ordinary people doing extraordinary things, this year’s ASA inductees have all excelled and achieved high honors in their sport or endeavor, as well as made significant contributions to their communities.

This year’s guest speaker is Olympic gold medalist, Janet Evans. Her achievements include: winner of 4 gold and 1 silver Olympic medals, winner of 45 U.S. National Titles, and winner of 5 World Championship Titles. Her three world records in her specialty events stood for 19, 20, and 21 years, respectively.

Her 800 meter record, which she first broke in 1987, was finally broken in 2008, making it the longest swimming world record in history.

The ASA Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony kicks off with a cocktail hour at 5:30pm, with dinner and ceremony beginning at 6:00pm.

The event is invitation only, but the media are invited and welcome to attend. A livestream of the event will be available at https://alabamasportsandadventure.com/livestream/ For more information, email shelley@omnimarketinggroup.net
