Dothan Man Charged with Manslaughter After Allegedly Saying Woman’s Death was Suicide

John Allen Kolkman, 57, is facing serious allegations following the death of Dixie Shirah in October. Investigators suspect foul play after Kolkman claimed Shirah’s death was a suicide, leading to his arrest on manslaughter charges.

The incident took place at a residence in Dothan last October, where authorities believe Kolkman fatally shot Shirah. Doubts arose about Kolkman’s account, prompting a thorough investigation by law enforcement.

In addition to the manslaughter charge, Kolkman is also facing drug-related charges in Geneva and Houston County. He is currently held on a hefty $1.5 million bond pending further legal proceedings.
